Patch Games Holiday Gift Hop

holiday gift guide Patch Games Review & Giveaway

Patch games are a part of my childhood. Some of these games have been around a long time but are timeless. I am happy to be reviewing one of these fun games.

Dice games have always been my favorite. That is why I chose Shizzle to review. Game night will never be the same. Shizzle is for ages 8 and up. This is perfect for my family. My adult children like to get together to play games and the laughing and bonding that goes on is great.

Shizzle is a game that uses six dice. Each die has its own combination of colors and dots. The dice are thrown and then lined up for points. You want to match colors or dots in the row to get points. Getting six in a row gives you the Shizzle that you are looking for. You add up points. There is a bank in the middle that has the chips used for the points. The round ones are worth one and the square ones are worth five.

Spontuneous Game Review

Spontuneous Review

My family loves playing games. I like trying new games so this was an excellent opportunity for us. I received the game with my kids in mind.

Even though we love computer games, there is something so much better. And that is playing with other people in a hands-on game. Spontuneous is a fun way to experience this. It can make you break out in song!!!

It can be played with 4 to 10 players and recommended for ages 9 and up.

We are always ready to play a new game and reading the instructions is where we start. We are sticklers for rules, so we followed along while playing. Here is a condensed version of the game.
It’s really this simple:  One player (Tunesmith) says a word and the others race against each other and the clock to try and blurt out a 5-word portion of lyrics from any song containing the given Trigger-Word!  The player who begins singing first, gets to roll the dice and advance around the board!  If nobody can sing a song, the Tunesmith must be able to back it up with a song of their own, or else they roll both dice and move backwards.  As players advance around the board, certain spaces will require them to draw a Spontuneous Card and attempt the crazy challenge!  Whoever reaches finish first and completes the final challenge, wins the game!

My children are very competitive. I watched with happiness as they played. Even my son-in-law who wasn’t going to play joined it. It was just too much fun! We started with four players.  Then picked our tune-master and began. Everyone made their lists of words from songs they knew. This gave us a good place to start.

This game invoked much laughter, fun, and bonding with the family. It was surprising to see how many different songs we knew. And how much our music tastes were so different. That is what made it challenging.

40 printable Halloween party games

Printable Halloween Games

I received the 40 printable Halloween party games to review. I chose this review because my children love Halloween. We all love Halloween. There is something about the fall that makes us want to move our activities indoors. The brisk cool days and colder nights make me anxious for Halloween to come.

My daughter wants to have a party this year and I thought this would be a fun way to entertain people at the party.

I downloaded the Halloween printables. The names of each activity made me so curious that I had to look at them all. Even the coloring pages. We use coloring pages for lots of things. They are fun to color but they are also great ideas for decorating cakes.  I will print these out for the little ones at the party. For your own free coloring pages, visit here.  There is even a coupon available.

When we have a party, it usually involves people of all ages. From babies on up. These printable games are designed with different age groups in mind.

I love the colorful illustrations. I like that they have good explanations. I also appreciate that they provide games and pages that can be played alone so that I can enjoy them by myself. A party is just a bonus.

Starting with the invitations that we can print to the scavenger hunt, the entertainment can last for hours. And all forty activities for only $19.95. That is a small price to pay for Halloween fun.

Elfishki Storybook Review and Giveaway 9/13

Elfishki Storybook:
The Performance in the Fountain

This is about the Elfishki Storybook for the iPad. It is an interactive program designed for children aged 6-9. The bright colors and hands-on capabilities make it a favorite with the children the first time they use it.

As part of the Pitch List reviewers, I downloaded The Performance in the Fountain on my boyfriend’s iPad. It was easy to install. I opened it and saw the opening page.

The books are in English and Russian. I love that there is a button to have it read to your child. Or your child can read it himself.
As your child  explores this book, they will be attracted to the bright colors, the wonderful illustrations and the story itself. With the interactive pages, your child can entertain themselves in a hands-on manner and learn at the same time. There is a game they can play over and over again and it has two skill levels.
Elfishki are little fairy tale creatures who live on the beautiful Rainbow Island in the middle of the Sparkling Sea.
Rinka, an Elfishki, preferred magic tricks over her school work. She tried performing every day. The children liked it but not the teachers. Rinka’s mom was being contacted a lot to make Rinka stop.
During school break Rinka’s mother needed someone to watch Rinka. Only a kind hearted cat, Mr. Thomas, who lived in Elfishtown agreed to watch her.
Rinka had never been to Elfishtown and grew bored just swimming in the town fountain. She was used to swimming in the Sparkling Sea. Even Mr. Thomas wouldn’t join her because cats don’t like water!

Read more about Rinka and her quest for entertainment. This story is delightful, colorful, interactive and fun.
You can also preview it on Youtube.
At the end of the story, it gives you information on what the goals were when creating this series. It has information on more books for children and adults. Very clever development.
I have two of the free books on my iPhone. They are very handy to have when I have to entertain my grandchildren and want a story that is fun and interactive. These are the ones I have:
Also check out their back to school sale going on now.
